I have thought about this. I just thought I would throw it out there. While testing my venturi tip, my 5 psi prv tripped on 11000w and had no problem venting the pressure. Maybe this inline with a silicone tip would give minimal pressure working steam, and a venturi may be an option with limited 5 psi superheated steam.Any thoughts? In my opinion .5 psi steam I have been using is plenty enough for my needs. I do not feel anything else is required for a Hobbie level home distiller. A 7.5 psi prv could still be used as system pressure safety?

I’ve seen where people have modified 15.5 gal kegs to be used as a pressure cooker/autoclave which operates at 15 psi. Kegs have a normal operating pressure of 60-90 psi and a burst pressure of 300 psi.4″ VM Build

I’m using a 1 bar (15 psi) as a safety and I feel pretty safe using it… if that thing trips I’ve got a serious problem. There are two types of people in this world.1. Those that can extrapolate from incomplete information.

What size orifice do you have in the venturi ?

    It was a silicone tip.

That makes sense that your relief lifted, with 11 kw of input power. I’d increase the orifice size in the venturi to reduce the pressure in the boiler. Pressure safety valves are not operating controls, but rather a way to circumvent a calamity ( if sized properly, both set point and mass flow)
