Head Distiller Barrel 21 Distillery & Dining, part of the C&D Brewing Ventures Family of businesses, located in State College, PA, near the renowned Penn State University, is looking for a passionate and skilled Head Distiller to join our team. At Barrel 21, we craft a range of spirits, including our celebrated Woodcock Straight Rye Whiskey, & our Whitetail Straight Bourbon made exclusively with PA based grain, and other innovative spirits. Our dedication to quality and craftsmanship is reflected in our state-of-the-art distillery, featuring a custom-built Carl Still designed for producing premium spirits with depth and complexity. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all aspects of the distillation process on our 450-liter Carl Still, ensuring the quality and consistency of every batch.Develop and innovate new product lines while maximizing the use of our existing inventory.Oversee the full production cycle, including fermentation, distillation, proofing, maceration, bottling, and raw material sourcing.Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, maintaining detailed logs for TTB and other authorities.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe distillery, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.Conduct inventory management, rotating products and sampling spirits to monitor aging.Represent the brand by educating small and large groups about the distillation process and our range of products. Job Requirements: 21+ years of age.2+ years of experience as a head distiller or 4+ years as an assistant distiller.Formal education in distillation preferred; B.S. in Science or Mathematics is a plus.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a fast-paced, physical environment.High school diploma or GED required.Proficiency with basic computer programs.Passion for craft distillation and a desire to innovate.Special consideration given to persons familiar with Brewing of malt beverages.
