I’m able to hook into a chiller @40 deg. Any idea who might make one commercially? I really dont have the time to fab one up.

SteelB.  Is your pot open to or closed top with a manway?  If it has a manway, what is the size of the opening?

    Thanks.

close top i can do 14 inches straight down in. the hole itself is bigger but its angled on the side so if i followed the angle i would hit the propeller.

    SteelB,

How far in can a 12″ diameter coil go below the top of the mash?

I think that your best option is a stand alone tube in tube heat exchanger, or one of my mash tuns with the internal cooling coil.  Email or call for pricing.  417-778-6100 paul@distillery-equipment.com

See the photo to the left, an example of a closed loop glycol hybrid cooler which needs city water in summer to augment cooling .  This one is similar to a project just finished  that I’ll have photos from a 1,000 Gal setup of next week.  If I have your zip code and how many hours to want it cooled by, I can get one on about 4 weeks for you that would pump right in through a heat exchanger and back until reaching the set point desired. Large reservoir not needed

Add a water to glycol heat exchanger and you can make cold water during winter and off seasons for the still cooling.
