    Rum-infused cherry

Posted by Ridgeback816 on April 27, 2024 at 1:46 am

So last year I made a panela rum with molasses and oats well we had a summer lots of mojitos and there was just enough to put away and forget about. Today i cracked it open, it was good but was missing something. I decided to add a stave of ex bourbon oak and a couple of French oak chips because it definitely needs some vanilla and some structure. I am guessing it should be right as rain by July 4th

Is it just me or is the “cherry” part of this post missing? 🎱 The struggle is real and this rabbit hole just got interesting. Per a conversation I had with Mr. Jay Gibbs regarding white oak barrel staves: “…you gotta get it burning good.”

I imagine cherry wood would compliment rum nicely. I have enjoyed it in my corn whiskey.Fear and ridicule are the tactics of weak-minded cowards and tyrants who have no other leadership talent from which to draw in order to persuade.
