This might be the wrong place for this post; if so I apologize. If you want to get an immense amount of knowledge/information regarding distilling, grains, yeasts, water, and the associated topics I recommend “The Recipe” a book by M.G. Bucholtz. It is subtitled “Reviving the Lost Art of Home distilling”. Great resource. I would recommend for everyone starting this distilling journey as well as any member who does not know everything about this topic. What surprised me is the way he ties fairly nerdy topics together, provides references if you want to go down that particular rabbit hole, and relates the issue to everyday knowledge. And he provides a historical reference for many of the topics that helps understand the ‘why’ of the current state of the art. I purchased it for recipes but the contents overshadow the recipes he provides. It is available on Amazon for $10 for a Kindle version.
