    Job description

    SUMMARYAnchorage Distillery is an award winning, crafted in Alaska distillery looking for an experienced, hard-working, self-motivated and collaborative leader to join our team as the Packaging Lead. Anchorage Distillery has the largest distillation capacity in the State of Alaska and currently produces craft spirits for multiple states.

    Our production team includes a Head Distiller and part-time packagers. You will assist the head distiller in developing a production and packaging schedule, ensure adequate inventories of each product are maintained, monitor input costs, and execute purchase orders.  Additionally, learn skills and tasks related to distillation to support the head distiller with producing batches of our gin, vodka, and whiskey products.

    This position has significant grow potential for the right driven person who is eager to learn and support a growing distillery.

    If you are interested in a career in distilling and/or brewing, this production role is an excellent opportunity to receive training and eventually get the opportunity to help produce your own batches of Alaskan craft spirits.

    DETAILED ACTIVITIES

    Packaging – Organize and oversee the packaging team, ensuring that all tasks are completed in an efficient manner and adheres to brand standards; tasks include wash and fill bottles; apply labels, caps, and shrink wrap seals; manage and communicate packaging and labeling standards; palletize cases for shipment to customersEquipment maintenance & cleaning – Clean and maintain production equipment on a daily basis.Facility organization and cleaning – Continuously clean the production area and ensure all items are organized and put away by shift’s end.Brewing & Distilling – Assist Distiller to produce batches of alcohol.Miscellaneous – Receiving deliveries; distillery tours; product development; team meetings.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    21+ years old.High School diploma or higher.Ability to provide references from current and former employers.Ability to provide documentation verifying US employment eligibility.Successful completion of a background check prior to beginning employment.References from previous employers.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Prior production experience, bonus if in a brewery or distillery.Ability to perform work autonomously and with teammates through clear spoken & written communications, attention to detail, and strong follow-through.Experience operating a forklift and dealing with large loads in a warehouse environment.Positive mindset and desire to learn.Dependable and detailed oriented.

    Job Type:

    ·         Full-time, 40 hours per week

    Pay:

    ·         Pay depends on experience

    Schedule:

    ·         4×10

    ·         8-hour shift

    Monday to FridayWeekend availability

    Education:

    ·         High school or equivalent (Required)

    Experience:

    Warehouse: 1 year (Preferred)Maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)Brewing or Distilling: 1 year (Preferred)
