  • Is the Green-Blue Distillate from an Overfilled Keg Boiler and Large Column Salvageable?

I’m about to move so I was hurriedly going to strip 5 gallons of UJSSM I’ve had sitting around in a keg for several months. I overfilled the keg, and was shocked at how much volume the beer expanded – up my 2” column a few feet! It burped and still isn’t quite to temp, but I have probably a half gallon or more blue green distillate and my sight glass is still full of foam. I was just gonna strip it and save the distillate for another run later – but now I’m unsure what I have and if I should stop the stripping or fix the problem later?!

I’d just keep going . Don’t sweat the blue stuff . Spirit run will sort ghat out . A bit of puke in a stripping run isn’t a deal breaker . You could always add a bit of vege oil to the boiler . That helps with puking . Out of interest , how over full was it ? I’ve squeezed sugar washes to within inches of the top of my keg and got away with it . Not done UJ so can’t comment for sure .My recommended goto .wiki/index.ph … ion_Theory
