i have been making this wine for about 3 years..i learned it form my dad..it is a very simple recipe..but works 100% of the time and tastes awesome..plus you will get piss drunk fast..i have been making it in 5 gallon jugs and selling it in my dorm at college, along with distilling some moonshine…anyway..here’s the recipe..to make ONE GALLON–3 frozen concentrate cans of welchs grape juice or something similar..–for each can of juice poured in, fill up the can that had the juice TWICE with water..this would be 6 cans of water per gallon.–1/2 cup sugar.–1 packet of Fleishmans dry active yeast.–shake till your arms hurt..–get one balloon..poke 5-15 holes in it while it is deflated with a needle.–put balloon over gallon jug and leave for about 3-6 weeks..the longer the better.. i leave it for a month and a half..thats it..very simple…very good..have fun

If I remember correctly, MOST juices from concentrate have preservatives in them that help to prevent them from fermenting. Also…2 1/2 cups of sugar is not enough to ferment to a high enough alcohol to get anyone that I know “piss drunk”. In fact in a 5 gallon batch like you say you make, that would probably only ferment to about 7%abv if your lucky. Isn’t that just a little more than BUD ICE? AND…..selling your product is plain stupid. first your wine wouldn’t be worth $25.00 for 5 gallons, second…is $25.00 worth going to jail over?? USE YOUR FREAKIN HEAD

I agree, no need for name calling. I have to agree that it is not a smart thing to do but name calling only ends up in 1000 of post in a thread of people arguing back and forth…. I say God bless you, I don’t say bless you … I am not the Lord, I can’t do that … Dane Cook

maybe it is a stupid thing to do..but i dont make it on campus..and kids in my school seem to enjoy it..and i sell it for cheap and still make a little money for a broke college kid..maybe you should try it yourself before you start saying that it is only 7%, because its not. but thanks for the advice some tried to give, but you didnt have to be such a jerk about it..im not as old and wise as you are i guess.. i will just stop posting recipes that are already all over the net..just trying to give one that i thought was good….

What I said was that selling yer product was a stupid idea.and I understand that gollege takes it’s toll on finances but wouldnt a part time job do the same thing.Be Patient God aint finished with me yet

Yes they do have preservitives and when using baking yeast it can sometimes stall fermentation for a long while (you have to keep adding yeast over and over until the preservitives are either over dilluted or evoparated I guess), I always use distillers yeast and it always starts bubbling reguardless of how many preservitives are in anything I throw it in… Damn stuff is damn near immortal.

I’m sorry I didn’t catch this earlier I’ve been pretty sick and neglecting my moderator duties…Here’s the deal:Do not discuss selling home made alcohol of any kind to anyone for any reason in any country where it is not a legal right expressly garanteed to you by your constitution.Do not mention it, do not joke about it, do not talk about back when you used to do it or about how you plan to do it in the future. That’s not what we are here for and it is a subject that needlessly changes the content of this forum from legally tolerable to legally offensive. In the future I’ll just flat out delete posts about selling… and frankly I’m tempted to delete this thread because really the forum is not in any way enriched by a discussion about making sneaky pete.”a woman who drives you to drink is hard to find, most of them will make you drive yourself.”anon–

I agree you should not sell any type alcoholic beverage unless you are collecting the proper taxes and doing it as a legitamite buisness. doing that in collage could even ruin the rest of your life potentially, as can overindulging in alcohol of any type during your education years. Of course you won’t listen but at least i tried to save ya.the issue about concentrates is worth adressing yes most juices made from concentrates do contain preservatives that may interfere with fermenting. this however started with the frozen concentrate itself and those often do not contain preservatives as the freezing is what preserves them. If you are looking for juices to ferment to cider wine or include in a mead look at frozen first for this very reason. IMO frozen concentrates also often have as good or better flavor as the canned and bottled juices at grocers.
