  • Help with troubleshooting the Enolmaster Bottle Filler

    Just got the HP version of the 4-head Enolmaster (pneumatic) and we’re having a few issues with it that we can’t seem to iron out. It’s very annoying that the company seemingly doesnt have a manual for the pneumatic model, only the electric one? Strange.1. The air line that goes from the lid of the overflow chamber back into the machine seems to be pulling droplets of bottling liquid into the machine internal components. This seems like it shouldn’t be happening, but there doesn’t seem to be anything preventing it from happening? It’s not because the chamber is full, it seems to be overspray from the liquid hitting the sides of the chamber, so it’s minimal liquid going into the line but seems like it’ll be an issue when bottling anything with sugar in it…

    2. The machine runs fine, but every so often one of the heads (we have the mini heads on right now) seems to get clogged or lose pressure and then runs about half as fast. It then corrects itself eventually and goes back to normal. There doesn’t seem to be any air leaks or clogs. Perhaps related to above issue?

    3. What are folks using for keeping hair and dust out of bottles? It’s strange that there is no inline screen included in the set-up. We bottle whisky mostly, so the inline filter kit isn’t ideal, as the micro sizes of their filter cartridges are too small for our needs. We really just need a very simple strainer/screen filter to keep hair and dust out (like the one on the xpressfill machine). I might actually just buy that one and attach it, but it becomes a problem then to try to down-size the tubing that comes with the Enolmaster (1″ braided hose).

    We are using an electric version of the enolmaster, and I think we have some solutions;

    For 3) we apply their oil filter cartridges, 50 micron for Limoncello etc. and 5 micron for distilled spirits like whisky. These cartridges aren’t cheap in purchase but last a long time.

    I have experienced clogging of filling heads, both with the mini heads as well as the larger ones. In both cases it was due to clogging by particles or sugar deposits in the vacuum connection. Especially with the mini heads there seems to be a build up of sugar during filling and especially downtime during filling. (We fill Limoncello most of the time). A quick rinse with hot water solves the issue.

    And finally droplets or sugar in the vacuum pump. This is a problem for sure, which we have tackled by adding an air filter between the vacuum chamber and pump unit. Not sure how much this solves the problem as it has been a recent addition, but sugar build up in the machine became a serious problem within weeks of  filling sugary liqueurs.

    Thank you, this is super helpful! We haven’t bottled anything with sugar yet, but I did wonder if the whisky would do the same once it dries due to sugars/oils. Have you found any way to clean the machine internally?
