This is actually quite a simple idea. I was having problems myself with getting nice louche with my absinthe, and I noticed others with the same problem. Its actually quite simple to check. Simply give your macerate a good shake, then scoop up a small 1/2 oz and then strain it with coffee filters until you have a clearer color you wont get it totally clear, so dont worry. then dump that bit into a clear cup if it already isn’t and then add ice cold water. if you get no louche at this point, you either need to let it macerate longer, or you didn’t use enough green anise, or your alcohol wasn’t a high enough proof.Happy absinthe making!and happy thanksgiving
