Wondering if any of you have an opinion about which method to use for installing LP steam lines?

By LP do you mean low pressure as in 15 PSIG? What exactly is ” Press fit?”

The best system is welded fittings, but you will always still have some threaded connections in this type of system where you have valves, strainers, traps etc. Some of the best modern systems are welded SS, which surprisingly is not as expensive as you may think and has many advantages. Othewise you can go SCH. 40 or 80 Black iron pipe. Distillery systems that run intermittently can be hard to control corrosion in. You need hot standby at around 170F on your boiler and the exact right chemical treatment. This is another facet that makes SS piping very attractive.

15 PSI systems run around 12 PSIG which is where your calcs need to be run.
