I’m gonna be using a worm condenser in the woods relatively near a cold lake. How could I keep the water inside cool? Should I constantly empty then top it off with lake water? Maybe I could run a tiny pump with a car battery to a reservoir. How big would this reservoir be for a 10 gal? Might be expensive and hard to take to the woods. Any suggestions is appreciated

If it helps , you need at minimum 2x the volume of water in your Flake stand compared to how much is in your boiler . 3x is better So iff’n you had 10 gal of mash or wash in your boiler , you’ll need about 20gal of water in your worm and flake to get the run done . If you can do that straight up , you don’t need to worry about pumps and bullshit . It’s only when you have a small sized worm and flake that you’ll need to replenish water . The perfect setup is to pump the water into the bottom of the Flake and let it overflow out the top ( or a pipe near the top)My recommended goto .wiki/index.ph … ion_Theory

I sometimes use a 12V pump to add cold water to the bottom inlet of the flake stand, overflowing the hot water from the top outlet.A cheap 12V temperature controller is used to control the temperature in the flake stand near the product outlet, the thermocouple is in the water, not the product. This really helps if I’m having difficulty keeping a steady flame under the boiler.

If you don’t have a big enough vessel for the worm, to hold enough water to get the run done, you could set up a kind of waterfall system with buckets?Make Booze, not War!
