I watched this video and it’s got me intrigued and considering starting to branch out when it comes to which kind of washes I’ll use. It seems relatively straightforward enough, does anyone have advice, thoughts, tips and so forth on making a potato vodka?

What are your thoughts on his use of barley as a source of enzymes, is that a good idea? I’d imagine pilsener malt would be good to go for, it has relatively high diastatic power so should be most helpful when it comes to converting the potato starch.

What type of potato would you recommend? He says roasting potatoes are good, so… Kestrel? Carisma? IDK.

The only thing with barley malt is the flavour it brings over, I suspect they used malted wheat which is similar diastatic power.

I plan in using malted and plain wheat to achieve the outcome.

Any updates from anyone who has done this recently? I too would like to know how this has worked out for those who have tried it…
