We have been using these bottles for the past 4 years.  Would have a few bottles here and there do this.  The last batch we bottled had an alarming amount do this.  Same process as always.  Any advice would be appreciated!

What type of water are you using for cleaning/proofing?

Looks like it could be some mineralization. If you stick something in there, does it scrape off?

Hard to say from that picture.  If it is hard, it could be what the glass industry refers to as bloom.  Basically minerals in the glass come to the surface and make it look like Jack Frost visited.  It’s harmless and should rinse out with neutral spirits.  It happens if the glass is old, has been in a warehouse too long with atmosphere fluctuations, and could be a sign of the glass manufacturer using inadequate or no IT.

If it is kind of oily liquid on the outside, it could be too much cold end treatment.  Again harmless to the consumer, but it will make labeling it challenging.  Sometimes the nozzles get clogged up, and the spray comes out uneven.

Sorry, just hard to diagnose from the pictures.

We are using charcoal filtered well water.  It did scrape off after we put 190 proof neutral spirit and a bottle scrubber.  Any advice on what we can do about the minerals to prevent this from happening again?

Charcoal filtering wont remove all of the minerals, I would recommend picking up an RO water system that’s properly sized for your production needs. No chance of minerals coming out of suspension with RO.
