  Who we are:

  Chattermark Distillers was founded as a small batch, made-from-scratch distillery in Boston, Mass. We source grain exclusively from New England family farms and mash, ferment, distill, age, and bottle on site in Boston’s oldest neighborhood to produce our award-winning spirits.

  Job:

  Chattermark Distillers is looking for a full-time Head Distiller to join our growing team! This opportunity is for those who are experienced distillers, self-starters, and passionate about producing quality craft spirits. As part of our team, a Head Distiller is charged with all phases of production. This role comes with the opportunity to work with a small company eager to grow its brand!

  Job Responsibilities:

  Head Distiller Duties

  ·       Lead execution of the distillation process to include mashing, fermenting, distilling, aging, blending, bottling and barrel room management

  ·       Manage all aspects of production process, operation and maintenance of equipment, compliance with safety, standard operating procedures and best practices

  ·       Establish and maintain relationships with existing and potentially new suppliers of high-quality grains and other raw materials used in the distillation process

  ·       Foster an environment of education and awareness among the distillery team through training and mentorship

  ·       Provide research and development as needed to expand current offerings with innovative spirits

  ·       Comply with federal, state and local regulatory requirements and provide data for reporting

  ·       Conduct cleaning and sanitation of distillation and related equipment

  ·       Professionally interact with distillery staff and customers

  ·       Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

   

  Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  ·       At least five years of experience in distillation processes and techniques (mashing, fermenting, distilling, aging, blending, barreling, barrel management)

  ·       Proven track record of success

  ·       Refined sensory skills with the ability to identify complex profiles and characteristics across phases of spirit production

  ·       Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across departments of a small team

  ·       Ability and willingness to work in both a team environment and independently

  ·       Proven leadership capabilities and strong relationship management

  ·       Demonstrated time management, scheduling, and organizational skills with attention to detail

  ·       Dedication to task and purpose with loyalty and integrity

  ·       Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly

  ·       Ability to spend full days on your feet

  ·       Ability to operate and obtain a license to operate forklift equipment

  ·       Problem solving and mechanical ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment

  ·       Strong math and lab skills to accurately account for all aspects of spirit production and warehouse

  ·       Must be 21+ with reliable transportation to and from place of business

  ·       Intellectual curiosity and passion for distilling with a desire to continue professional development
