I’m really not sure where to put this one, so I figured here is as good as any of the rest. This is more of a curiosity than anything else but… I took this week off as my spring vacation. The weather has finally turned warm and dry so I got a wild hair and decided to clean at the garage…It’s not really going well While doing that I decided I might try to help out the neighbor and cut down the blackberries and stuff that has grown up on my side of his fence over the past 6 years. So I went up into the attic to look for a hedge trimmer I may or may not remember having… I didn’t find it I did however find a lot of stashed alcohol that has accumulated over the years. One of the things I found was this jar that someone (can’t remember who) sent me 8 or 9 years ago.

My though is to just filter them out and not really worry about it but I’d like to hear everybody’s opinions on this.A message to new membersWe want you to be safe and succeed so start hereMy Apple Brandy Recipe

Looks like copper salts to me cranky, I’d pour it through a filter to remove them and add it to feints for a re-run too.Make Booze, not War!

I also think it’s the copper here…don’t drink directly but as recommended distill again after filtering.

I agree it’s likely copper salts that settled out. There isn’t much left in the jar so it’s probably not enough to bother with.A message to new membersWe want you to be safe and succeed so start hereMy Apple Brandy Recipe

It is poorly made product. I’d guess it’s from a newbie who was proud to have made something, probably a single pass through a pot still.Use your nose to appreciate it as best as you can, it might smell very nice, but I know that you have a lot of product in your collection that is safer to drink, so why bother tasting it.I’ve recently ‘downsized’ my ‘library’ of other distiller’s pride and joys by running them with my feints. I have more shelf space for my own experiments now.
