What do you use as a fermentation bucket. I ran across 3 brand new white plastic buckets with lids for $1.00 today so I could not pass them up. Do they need to be something special ( I know in making beer they recommend food grade only) or will the distilling take care of any flavor it may pick up?I guess I can always use them to store dry good in .Thanks

most plastics are ok for fermener but If you have second hand bucket and you don’t know what it used to contain I would be a little wary. I bought an oblong container that holds just under 25 litres from a department store its polypropylene and oblong shaped so can put 3 25 litre washes in at once. Even 3 turbos as it has a large surface area to disperce the heat Hic hic Now where did I put my glass

Eh? How can you put 3 25L washes in a container that holds just under 25L? Or did you mean jim81147 could, since he has 3 buckets? If Leonardo da Vinci had a video camera.

What about a demijohn? I was thinking about getting one anyways for some of the larger mead recipies I’ve run across. I know they’re a bit pricey, but wouldn’t it be worth it?Jaxx
