Anchor Brewing reopened this year. Sapporo USA couldn’t make a go of it after Fritz Maytag got out in 2011. The brewery has been closed for a year but Hamdi Ulukaya, the billionaire founder and CEO of yogurt maker Chobani, has purchased it. This is good news if you love their Porter, which I do. Anchor Porter is delicious. A nice mouthfeel and a pleasant “chocolatey” flavor. Plus, and this is a real surprise … the porter is not over-hopped as so many of the left coast beers are. I too am glad Anchor is (possibly) revitalized.ssMy LM/VM & Potstill: My build threadMy Cadco hotplate modification thread: Hotplate BuildMy stock pot gin still: stock pot potstillMy 5-grain Bourbon recipe: Special K

+1It’s hard to find a good, well balanced beer from any of the left coast breweries.
