Has anyone tried making this (or an absinthe of any other non-green colour?)I gather that blanche absinthe is simply not macerated after distillation. However, my own experience has been that the second maceration also gives more complexity in flavour which begs the question – can such complexity be provided from the initial soaking? Has anyone out there tried?

I’ve made a couple of white absinthes. Usually the herbs that would be added in the finishing step of a verte are included in the primary maceration of a blanche, often in higher quantities than you would use in the finishing step. Here is a recipe from Duplais:https://books.google.com/books?id=li8tA … &q&f=false

Brillant! Thanks Sweeps. I think I need to read Duplais fully, the recipe I used for my verte absinthe was adapted from that book as well and turned out beautifully!
